Dr. Tien Anh Tran is a Researcher at Department of Electrical Engineering, University of
Malta, Malta. He was a Postdoctoral researcher at Department of Naval
Architecture and Ocean Engineering, Seoul National University (SNU), Seoul,
South Korea (October, 2022 – October, 2023). He is an Assistant Professor
(Lecturer) at Department of Marine Engineering, Vietnam Maritime University,
Haiphong City, Vietnam. He is an Honorary Professor at School of Computing
Science and Engineering, Galgotias University, India and an Honorary Adjunct
Professor at School of Computer Science and Engineering, Lovely Professional
University (LPU), India. Additionally, he is an Adjunct Faculty at SIMATS
Engineering, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Tamilnadu,
India.
He received B.Eng and M.Sc at Vietnam Maritime University, Vietnam in
2011 and 2014, respectively. He got Ph.D. Degree at Wuhan University of
Technology, Wuhan, China in 2018. He is an Editor/Guest Editor for the
reputation journals indexed in SCI/SCIE such as Environment, Development and
Sustainability, IET Intelligent Transport System, International Journal of
Distributed Sensor Networks, Sustainable Computing: Informatics and Systems,
International Journal of Renewable Energy Technology, International Journal of
Energy Optimization and Engineering, IEEE Internet of Things Magazine,
Mathematics. In 2015, he had been awarded the Chinese Government
Scholarship (CSC) for the full funding of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in
China. In 2019, He had been awarded the NEPTUNE prize for the outstanding
researchers by Vietnam Maritime University, In 2022, he is one of five
outstanding scientists in Vietnam to be nominated for Ta Quang Buu prize by
the National Foundation for Science & Technology Development (NAFOSTED).
Additionally, he had been selected and awarded the full scholarship for the
Postdoctoral Fellowship Program of National Research Foundation (NRF) for
Foreign Researchers by the Government of South Korea.
Dr. Krishna Bista is a Professor of Higher Education in the Department of Advanced Studies, Leadership and Policy at Morgan State University, Maryland (USA). Dr. Bista is an internationally recognized expert of global student mobility and international education. He teaches doctoral courses in Higher Education and Community College Leadership programs and supervises doctoral dissertations. At Morgan State University, he has led Teach Online Workshop and the Summer Writing Institute. He has chaired several communities including tenure and promotion, research and publication, international affairs strategic planning, and technology committee and organized multiple workshops and conferences on a wide range of higher education topics. Dr. Bista has published more than 100 academic papers, essays, book chapters and edited three dozen books and journal volumes on a wide range of higher education topics including international student mobility, campus internationalization, doctoral student experiences, and online teaching and learning. Dr. Bista is the founding editor of the Journal of International Students, a flagship quarterly publication in international education. He is also the founding series editor for the Routledge Global Student Mobility Book Series and the founding Chair for the Comparative and International Education Society Study Abroad and International Students SIG.
Currently, he serves as the Vice President of the STAR Scholars Network, Maryland. Previously, Dr. Bista served as the director of Global Education at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, where he was Chase Endowed Professor of Education in the School of Education.His recent books include Reimagining Internationalization and International Initiatives at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (w/Pinder, Palgrave McMillan, 2022), Online Teaching and Learning in Higher Education During COVID-19: International Perspectives and Experiences (w/Roy & Allen, Routledge, 2022); The Experiences of International Faculty in Institutions of Higher Education: Enhancing Recruitment, Retention, and Integration of International Talent (w/Glass & Lin, Routledge, 2021); International Students at US Community Colleges: Opportunities, Challenges, and Successes (w/Malvaux, Routledge, 2021). Bista serves on the editorial review boards for Kappa Delta Pi Record, Teachers College Record, Journal of Leadership and Organizational Studies, and International Journal of Leadership in Education. He has reviewed several book projects related to educational research, international and comparative education series for Springer, Routledge, Sage, Palgrave MacMillan, and Bloomsbury publications. Dr. Bista presents annually at national and international conferences—American Educational Research Association, Comparative and International Educational Society, and Association for the Study of Higher Education.
Dr. Andrea Lee serves as the Doctor of Education program coordinator at Austin Peay State University in the US. She is also the US country director for the STAR Scholars Network. Her research interests include educational technology, refugee education, international students, and language learning.
Dr. Lee's professional journey includes significant international experience, having lived in South Korea during two periods, from 2006 to 2012 and 2016 to 2021. During this time, she contributed to academia by teaching at three South Korean universities. She has also held academic positions at two U.S. universities, where her interdisciplinary teaching portfolio covered courses in education, history, English, business, and public administration.
Beyond academia, Dr. Lee has demonstrated a deep commitment to social impact, particularly through her work with North Korean refugees. She has designed and implemented educational programs in South Korea to facilitate refugee integration, showcasing her dedication to addressing global educational challenges and fostering inclusivity.
